Software Engineer, Backend

Role overview

A remote backend engineering role supporting a high-scale payment network in the bitcoin and fintech space, focused on the systems that orchestrate money movement for users across many countries. The team tackles some of the most demanding and visible engineering problems at the company, partnering with product, engineering, and operations to deliver reliable infrastructure. The position is fully remote and open to candidates in European and U.S. time zones.

Responsibilities

- Collaborate with engineers and designers to scope, build, and ship features end to end - Design, build, and maintain APIs and backend services at scale - Write modular, reusable libraries and abstractions that other teams can build on - Develop internal tooling that improves developer productivity and infrastructure workflows - Identify and resolve performance, scalability, and reliability issues - Participate in code reviews and share best practices across the team

Requirements

- At least 5 years of recent professional experience programming in C# - Hands-on experience with .NET Core and EF Core - Self-driven and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively - Genuine enthusiasm for tackling difficult engineering challenges - Comfortable working in a remote, team-first environment across European and U.S. time zones

Nice to have

- Familiarity with Bitcoin or broader blockchain and payments concepts - Experience with testing frameworks such as xUnit and Moq
