Remote job
AI-Native Software Trainee
Job details
About this role
Role overview This is an entry-level trainee position on a small, AI-first product team based in Helsinki or Espoo, working mostly remote with flexible hours. The team's mission is to close the gap between high-level strategy and the people who execute it, and every team member is expected to act as a multiplier. Trainees begin in product testing and grow into internal tooling and feature work, with progression driven by the individual.
Responsibilities - Walk through the product end to end, surface bugs clearly so others can act, and fix the small ones independently - Take ownership of the internal tools the team relies on, shaping how they work and improving them over time - Move into product development with input into what gets built and why - Build every layer of the work using AI coding tools (Claude Code is the primary one) starting in the first week - Apply taste and judgement when evaluating what AI tools produce, pushing back when output is not good enough
Requirements - A track record of building things without being prompted, whether finished, unfinished, or experimental (bots, side projects, scripts, small games) - Demonstrated taste in software: ability to point to a product you admire and explain what makes it work - Ambition to ship software that real people use - No degree requirement and no minimum years of experience; students, self-taught builders, and career-changers are explicitly welcome
Nice to have - An interest in how AI tools change the day-to-day practice of software engineering - Comfort working in a small team where ownership comes quickly
Benefits and work setup - Paid, part-time to start, with hours that flex around studies or other commitments - No fixed end date; progression through stages is self-directed - Mostly remote, with a Helsinki or Espoo base for occasional in-person work - Hiring process: a remote interview, a coding task (with the AI session export), a remote walkthrough, and a dinner with the founders
