Remote job
Senior Backend & AI Engineer (Cyber-Engineering)
Job details
About this role
Role overview Build backend and AI systems that help organizations manage cyber risk. The role covers two areas: extending an incident management platform with agent-powered workflows, and developing a Go endpoint agent that inventories installed software and identifies potential risks. Depending on the workstream, you’ll collaborate with incident responders or take on the demanding reliability challenges of software running across production machines.
Responsibilities - Extend incident response workflows to cover more complex cases, including ransomware, and support additional operational teams. - Work directly with responders to understand investigative processes and forensic tasks, then turn those needs into useful software. - Build AI agent orchestration and evaluation tools, and own the reliability and adoption of workflows for ransomware cases. - Develop a Go agent that collects software inventory and flags possible endpoint risks. - Address the endpoint agent’s footprint, reliability, quiet operation, and cross-platform behavior.
Requirements - Senior-level backend engineering experience, including at least four years operating production systems. - Strong ability in Go or Python; experience with both workstreams may be relevant. - Experience balancing delivery speed with production reliability. - For the endpoint workstream, substantial experience designing and deploying endpoint agents. - Knowledge of cybersecurity or strong curiosity about the field. - Familiarity with PostgreSQL, AWS, Terraform, and Kubernetes. - Based in Paris.
Nice to have - Experience with incident response, forensics, AI agents, or endpoint security tooling. - Ability to learn unfamiliar team workflows quickly, take ownership, and iterate on solutions.
Benefits and work setup - Compensation is discussed, including salary and equity, during the initial screening call and before technical assessment. - The process includes a screening call, a take-home technical exercise with an on-site review and live exercise, and an on-site discussion with prospective colleagues.
