Role overview A senior management role leading the growth algorithms team at a personalized retail company that blends human styling expertise with machine learning and generative AI. The leader owns data science across the full client lifecycle—paid media, onboarding, CRM, incentives, reactivation, and retention—and shapes experimentation and personalization strategy across the business.
Responsibilities - Set and communicate a vision for growth algorithms that turns acquisition, activation, retention, and reactivation goals into a focused portfolio - Act as a trusted partner to Product, Marketing, Engineering, Finance, Design, and Enterprise Analytics, defining shared practices for experimentation, product analytics, and AI/ML measurement - Guide strategy for Next Best Action, lifecycle personalization, predictive value, CRM, paid media, onboarding funnels, and incentives - Raise the bar for experimental design and interpretation, balancing statistical evidence with business context - Lead a team of full-stack data scientists from opportunity sizing through production deployment, monitoring, and incident response - Make hard portfolio choices, retiring low-value work, consolidating overlapping capabilities, and focusing capacity on highest-impact opportunities - Build an inclusive, high-performing team grounded in ownership, candid feedback, and continuous learning
Requirements - Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Physics, Mathematics, or Operations Research; master's or PhD preferred - 5+ years applying machine learning, experimentation, and causal inference to business problems in growth, lifecycle, marketing, personalization, e-commerce, or retail - 2+ years as a technical team lead or direct people manager - Track record of developing data scientists and lifting a team's technical bar - Ability to operate as a thought partner across product, engineering, and business leaders
