Remote job
Founding Platform Engineer
Job details
About this role
Role overview As a founding platform engineer, you will own the core runtime behind an AI-driven autoscaling product that ingests workload telemetry, runs tuning models, and writes optimized configurations back to customer autoscalers on AWS ECS and Kubernetes. This is a foundational role shaping the production infrastructure direction for years to come, with end-to-end ownership from API surface to operations.
Responsibilities - Build and operate the metrics ingestion pipeline that handles queue-depth, task-count, and request-rate streams from customer environments. - Develop the applier service that pushes tuned configurations through native APIs (such as ECS UpdateService, HPA, and KEDA CRDs) safely, with rollback support. - Design multi-tenancy isolation and per-customer state stores to keep customer data cleanly separated. - Instrument observability so that every automated scaling decision is explainable and auditable. - Shape foundational infrastructure decisions that will influence how the platform scales over the next several years.
Requirements - Five or more years building production cloud infrastructure, ideally including large-scale experience with ECS or Kubernetes. - Comfortable owning a system end-to-end, from public API surface to day-to-day operations. - Strong written communication skills, suited to an async-first working style. - A bias toward shipping working software over polishing architecture diagrams. - Self-directed individual contributor mindset; able to drive work without a fixed gatekeeper.
Nice to have - Prior hands-on work on autoscaling systems, scheduler internals, or time-series infrastructure.
Benefits and work setup - Fully remote role aligned with EU and Israel time zones. - Async-first culture with no recurring status meetings. - Competitive compensation plus meaningful equity.
