Role overview
This is a Staff-level frontend engineering position focused on building and maintaining large-scale web applications with React and TypeScript. The role blends hands-on coding with technical leadership, mentoring of junior engineers, and close collaboration with backend, design, and product counterparts. The platform operates at significant scale, handling tens of billions of requests and thousands of production deployments per month.
Responsibilities
- Write clean, performant, and maintainable frontend code using TypeScript and React. - Provide technical leadership and guidance, including mentoring junior engineers and supporting their growth. - Partner with backend developers, designers, and product managers to deliver polished customer-facing experiences. - Lead and participate in code reviews to uphold code quality, share feedback, and enforce coding standards. - Identify areas of the codebase that benefit from refactoring or optimization to improve scalability and maintainability. - Author technical specification plans for roadmap projects and coordinate agreed-upon delivery plans with teammates.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience planning, building, and shipping production frontend applications with React, JavaScript, and TypeScript. - Demonstrated hands-on experience building web applications with TypeScript. - Professional English proficiency in both verbal and written communication. - Track record of mentoring engineers and leading technical initiatives. - Strong collaboration skills across disciplines including backend, product design, and product management.
Nice to have
- Prior full-stack engineering experience. - Experience working with Node.js. - Background contributing to a large, complex codebase. - Experience building or maintaining an internal UI component library. - Project management and cross-functional communication skills.
