Role overview Step into a Software Engineer role on the data acquisition and infrastructure side of an AI team building one of the most widely used text-to-speech products on the market. You will help design and run the ingestion systems that turn audio sources into massive, high-quality training sets. Day-to-day work blends infrastructure engineering with creative problem solving alongside research scientists.
Responsibilities - Hunt down new audio data sources and bring them into the existing ingestion pipeline. - Run and extend the cloud infrastructure behind ingestion, currently built on GCP and managed with Terraform. - Collaborate with scientists to keep improving cost efficiency, throughput, and dataset quality. - Partner with AI teammates and leadership to shape the dataset roadmap for upcoming consumer and enterprise features. - Translate infrastructure and pipeline work into measurable improvements for model training.
Requirements - BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a closely related field. - 5+ years of professional software development experience. - Comfortable with bash and Python on Linux systems. - Solid understanding of Docker and Infrastructure-as-Code, plus production experience on at least one major cloud provider (GCP used internally). - Capable of handling shifting priorities and multiple workstreams at once. - Clear, confident written and verbal communication.
Nice to have - Experience with web crawlers or designing large-scale data processing workflows.
