Role overview Senior engineering role focused on the infrastructure that underpins large-scale data platforms built on Databricks (and Snowflake). The position blends platform engineering, SRE practices, and FinOps collaboration to keep two integrated data environments reliable, performant, and cost-efficient as enterprise workloads grow.
Responsibilities - Build and maintain infrastructure-as-code for the data platform, including Terraform modules, CI/CD pipelines, and change-management workflows - Own day-to-day operations, governance, and lifecycle of Databricks and Snowflake workspaces and accounts - Drive cost management and partner with FinOps on forecasting, budgeting, and optimization across both platforms - Implement observability and operational readiness through monitoring, alerting, dashboards, runbooks, and on-call practices - Coordinate with internal product teams and external vendors to track roadmap features and align platform capabilities with product needs
Requirements - Significant hands-on experience managing Databricks infrastructure at enterprise scale - Proven track record delivering reliability and observability for high-scale SaaS, including defining SLOs, building alerts, and running incident response - Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL for automation, tooling, and data engineering tasks
Nice to have - Snowflake experience, including warehouse tuning, governance, and Terraform/DDL provisioning - Background designing or operating a hybrid data platform that integrates Databricks and Snowflake - Strong Spark skills for tuning, partitioning, and improving performance of large jobs - Familiarity with security and governance best practices on both platforms - Delta Lake and lakehouse expertise, including table formats, CDC, compaction, and storage layout optimization
