Role overview
Join the data side of an AI team building petabyte-scale training datasets that power next-generation consumer and enterprise products in the audio and accessibility space. The role blends infrastructure engineering, data acquisition, and research collaboration to push the cost, throughput, and quality frontier of large-scale data pipelines. It is a hands-on software engineering position embedded with scientists and leadership.
Responsibilities
- Discover and bring new audio data sources into the ingestion pipeline, working scrappily to expand coverage. - Operate and extend the cloud infrastructure that powers ingestion, currently running on a major cloud provider and managed with Terraform. - Partner closely with research scientists to optimize the trade-offs between cost, throughput, and dataset quality at growing scale. - Contribute to the team's dataset roadmap alongside AI team leadership, shaping what data is collected for upcoming products. - Support production reliability of the ingestion stack through tooling, automation, and iterative improvements.
Requirements
- BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a closely related field. - 5+ years of industry experience in software development. - Proficiency with bash and Python scripting in Linux environments. - Working knowledge of Docker and Infrastructure-as-Code concepts, plus professional experience with at least one major cloud platform. - Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and adapt to shifting priorities.
