Software Engineer, AI Data - Mountain View, CA, USA

Role overview Build the data infrastructure that supports AI model training and new audio-based products. You’ll source audio data and develop large-scale pipelines and processing systems, working with AI researchers to improve dataset quality, scale, and cost efficiency.

Responsibilities - Identify audio data sources and create dependable pipelines to bring data into training datasets. - Develop and operate large-scale data processing systems, improving quality, throughput, and cost. - Work with AI researchers to refine datasets and support new model development. - Own engineering work from investigating a problem through implementation and ongoing improvement.

Requirements - Degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. - At least five years of professional software engineering experience and strong backend fundamentals. - Proficiency with Python and Bash in Linux environments. - Experience building and running production systems; data pipelines or large-scale processing experience is especially relevant. - Strong problem-solving skills, initiative, and ability to work independently through ambiguity.

Nice to have - Experience with web crawling, data acquisition, or distributed processing. - Cloud infrastructure and Infrastructure as Code experience, especially GCP and Terraform. - Familiarity with machine learning datasets, data quality, or audio processing.
