Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

Role overview Embed quality throughout the delivery lifecycle as a senior test engineer on a federal healthcare data program, designing and executing comprehensive quality engineering and test automation solutions. The role validates provider data processing, integration workflows, and non-functional requirements while partnering with Agile teams, DevSecOps engineers, data engineers, and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities - Develop and maintain the program test strategy, plans, cases, and procedures, and define test acceptance criteria aligned with business, technical, and operational requirements. - Design, build, execute, and maintain automated test frameworks and regression suites across functional, integration, API, data validation, and end-to-end testing, integrated into CI/CD pipelines. - Validate provider data ingestion, transformation, normalization, aggregation, and delivery, and develop automated routines for completeness, accuracy, consistency, timeliness, and integrity. - Test system integrations, interfaces, APIs, and interoperability services, including FHIR-enabled and CMS-approved interfaces, and run performance, scalability, load, stress, and reliability testing. - Document, track, prioritize, and validate defect resolution, participate in root cause analysis, monitor quality trends, and recommend improvements across the program.

Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, Data Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline. - Minimum 7 years in software quality assurance, quality engineering, software testing, or test automation, with at least 3 years developing and maintaining automated test frameworks. - Experience testing cloud-based applications and data platforms, validating complex data transformations and integration pipelines, and supporting CI/CD and automated testing processes. - Working knowledge of API, integration, system, regression, and end-to-end testing within Agile development environments, using defect management and requirements-traceability tools. - Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance and have lived in the United States 3 of the past 5 years.

Nice to have - Experience supporting CMS, HHS, or other federal healthcare programs, especially provider data, healthcare interoperability, enrollment, credentialing, licensing, or analytics systems. - Background with AWS-hosted solutions, FedRAMP, FISMA, NIST 800-53, or CMS security compliance activities. - Hands-on experience with Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, TestNG, JUnit, or PyTest; Postman, REST Assured, or SoapUI; SQL; Python or Java; and GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps. - SAFe Agile certification or other Agile credential.
