Role overview A cybersecurity vendor is hiring a Solutions Engineer to support the South England territory, combining pre-sales technical work with channel partner enablement. The position is roughly 70% remote within the UK with up to 30% travel, and suits a self-starter who enjoys engaging partners and customers around network security solutions.
Responsibilities - Lead technical discovery conversations to qualify requirements, shape use cases, and produce bill-of-materials recommendations aligned to customer outcomes. - Deliver product demos, technical sales presentations, and proof-of-concepts to audiences ranging from 1 to 100 stakeholders, including partners and end customers. - Cultivate and maintain a portfolio of trusted channel partner relationships, holding recurring sessions with technical decision makers. - Build and maintain a personal demo lab, support remote partner trials, and participate in beta feedback with product management. - Develop deep expertise across multiple product areas to serve as a regional subject-matter expert and on-board new team members. - Collaborate with marketing on collateral, virtual events, and competitive positioning while keeping regional sales informed on roadmap and best practices.
Requirements - Approximately 8 years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree, or 5 years with an MBA, in pre-sales, support, or professional services within a vendor, channel, distribution, or customer environment. - Hands-on experience with cybersecurity products and L2-L7 networking protocols, including stateful firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPN, encryption, PKI, WLAN, and proxies. - Strong presentation, whiteboarding, objection-handling, and time-management skills, with the ability to lead technical sales without close supervision. - CISSP certification, plus familiarity with governance and compliance frameworks such as HIPAA, PCI, SOX, GDPR, and FERPA. - Working knowledge of Active Directory, LDAP, scripting or regular expressions, and virtualization platforms including VMware, Hyper-V, AWS, and Azure. - Must reside in the UK with willingness to travel extensively across South England.
Nice to have - Microsoft Azure or AWS Associate certification. - Vendor-specific network security certifications (training provided for the right candidate).
