About this role
Role overview A cleared data analyst is needed to profile source data, document end-to-end lineage, and align sources to a canonical domain model that powers enterprise data products, APIs, and analytics. The role bridges source systems, data engineering, architects, and build teams, turning fragmented inputs into standardized, governed data. Work supports federal customers and requires an active security clearance.
Responsibilities - Profile source data to assess structure, quality, completeness, and relationships, and document findings for mapping and design decisions. - Trace and document data lineage across the full lifecycle, from origin through transformation to consumption. - Map source elements to a canonical/domain model, supporting database design and consistent enterprise definitions. - Translate business and data requirements into API schema designs for build teams to implement. - Develop and document data rules covering standardization, validation, and quality, applying MDM and well-managed data practices. - Produce source-to-target mappings, data dictionaries, metadata, and lineage artifacts usable by engineering teams. - Communicate technical requirements to engineering and build teams, and gather clarifications directly with clients and stakeholders.
Requirements - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field. - 2–6 years of experience in data analysis, data mapping, data modeling, or a related data role. - Strong SQL skills with the ability to profile, query, and analyze data across multiple source systems. - Experience with data mapping and source-to-target documentation. - Working knowledge of data modeling, domain/canonical models, schema design, and database design. - Understanding of the end-to-end data lifecycle across integrated systems. - Familiarity with API schema design and how data elements map to API contracts. - Strong technical writing and the ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences. - Active security clearance.
Nice to have - Experience with Master Data Management, golden-record concepts, and survivorship rules. - Background in data governance, metadata management, data quality frameworks, and lineage tooling. - Defining validation logic for ingestion or transformation processes. - Familiarity with cloud data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, or AWS, and modern data catalogs. - Exposure to data-as-a-product or domain-driven data design. - Experience in Agile delivery teams.
Benefits and work setup - Proposed salary range: $65,000–$108,000 USD, determined by location, contract labor category, experience, skills, and education. - Competitive mix of compensation, learning and development opportunities, health insurance, paid leave, and retirement benefits. - Position does not include visa sponsorship or immigration-related support.
