About this role
Role overview
A leadership role owning the digital product, customer experience, and underlying technology for a cat-focused direct-to-consumer brand. The position sits on the executive team and acts as the bridge between long-term business strategy and what gets built and shipped. Scope covers the full commerce stack, from onsite experience and checkout through subscription management and the platform that supports them.
Responsibilities
- Define a multi-year vision and roadmap for the digital product and the platform beneath it, aligned to financial and brand goals. - Set the bar for every customer-facing surface, including onsite experience, paths to purchase, account and subscription flows, and retention-driving features. - Own revenue-influencing metrics such as conversion, average order value, lifetime value, and retention, and apply a commercial lens to prioritization. - Partner with Marketing on a shared agenda across acquisition, retention, and reactivation, ensuring product and brand compound each other. - Set technical direction, make build-versus-buy calls, keep the stack healthy, and lead engineering velocity and quality. - Attract, develop, and lead a cross-functional product and engineering organization, allocating resources where they have the most impact.
Requirements
- 12+ years (or equivalent) leading product and technology organizations, with a record of setting strategy, leading teams, and growing the metrics that matter. - Experience scaling consumer commerce across both DTC subscription and traditional e-commerce, including subscribe-and-save motions. - Strong familiarity with the modern DTC stack, Shopify included, with enough technical depth to set engineering direction. - Track record operating at the intersection of product, growth, and brand, and aligning those functions toward shared outcomes. - A point of view-led leader who grounds decisions in customer understanding and validates with data, testing, and research. - Clear communicator who can align engineers on architecture and the executive team on roadmap rationale.
Nice to have
- Genuine personal interest in cats and the people who love them. - Orientation closer to a general manager of e-commerce than a narrow conversion or CRO scope.
Benefits and work setup
- Fully paid health, vision, and dental insurance. - Four-day work week and unlimited paid time off. - Fully remote team with distributed colleagues across the US, plus in-person department and company off-sites and retreats. - Monthly free product.
