About this role

Role overview This role invites thoughtful communicators to evaluate transcripts from a mental-health AI assistant and share judgments about which exchanges feel genuinely helpful and which fall short. Reviewers work in a small collaborative cohort, comparing notes to define what effective, empathetic conversation looks like in this context. It is a flexible, remote opportunity aimed at shaping the early quality standards of a conversational product in the mental-health space.

Responsibilities - Read transcripts of user conversations with an AI mental-health companion - Assess which responses feel supportive, clear, and emotionally attuned versus which miss the mark - Compare observations with other reviewers and align on shared quality benchmarks - Articulate in writing why specific exchanges succeed or fail to land - Contribute to defining early standards for what constitutes "good" in this conversational domain - Flag patterns that could inform product, training, and design improvements

Requirements - Background involving regular interpersonal work such as teaching, coaching, counseling, mentoring, customer support, or hospitality, or formal study in psychology or education - Reputation among peers as someone people turn to for thoughtful, attentive conversation - Demonstrable warmth, flexibility, honesty, confidence, and sensitivity to others, plus the ability to recognize those qualities in others - Clear written English and an analytical interest in why communication succeeds or fails - Must be 18 or older, given that some transcripts cover emotionally difficult material

Nice to have - Prior experience working in mental-health, wellness, or peer-support settings - Familiarity with evaluating chatbot or conversational AI interactions - Comfort working asynchronously with a distributed reviewer cohort

Benefits and work setup - Fully remote with flexible hours, allowing reviewers to set their own schedule - Paid hourly compensation of $10–20 USD - Early influence over the review process and quality standards for a high-visibility mental-health product - Opportunity to contribute to a tool designed to broaden access to emotional support - No formal clinical credentials required; selection is based on judgment and communication skills
