Forward Deployed Software Engineer

Role overview Build software in close collaboration with users at customer sites, turning urgent operational needs into useful features and prototypes. The work covers the full development cycle, from understanding problems and shaping solutions with product and design partners to shipping and refining customer-facing software in a fast-moving environment.

Responsibilities - Visit customer locations to understand user workflows, constraints, and pain points. - Work with product managers and designers to scope and shape new features and prototypes. - Develop and deliver software capabilities from initial concept through implementation. - Use user feedback to prioritize fixes and improve prototypes through rapid iteration. - Write clean, testable, maintainable code and take ownership of the solutions delivered.

Requirements - U.S. citizenship and willingness to travel up to 50% to customer sites. - A bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. - At least one year of front-end or back-end development experience, with SQL, Java, and/or TypeScript and React among the relevant technologies. - Ability to work independently with limited supervision and make sound decisions amid changing priorities. - Interest in a demanding, fast-paced technology environment.

Nice to have - An active U.S. security clearance or ability to obtain one with sponsorship. - Startup or entrepreneurial experience, or experience in customer-facing or consulting work. - Familiarity with software developed in a federally accredited environment.

Benefits and work setup The position is remote within the U.S., with frequent customer travel. Base pay is listed as $110,000–$140,000 for junior candidates with 0–3 years of experience and $140,000–$180,000 for senior candidates with 4 or more years. Both levels include bonus and equity.
