Senior Forward Deployed Engineer

Role overview Lead engineering for client engagements, taking operational workflows from initial assessment through to production systems that the client’s own team can operate. The work combines hands-on software development with close collaboration with client teams and senior decision-makers, typically across one or two engagements at a time.

Responsibilities - Audit operational workflows and identify how teams handle routine work and exceptions. - Design and build systems that address suitable workflow problems. - Guide an engagement from discovery through production and handover to the client’s team. - Advise client leaders on project scope and whether a proposed solution is likely to deliver value. - Work through implementation details such as reliability and retry behavior in tool-calling systems.

Requirements - Strong engineering judgment across discovery, implementation, and production delivery. - Ability to understand complex operational processes and translate them into system requirements. - Confidence working directly with client teams and senior decision-makers. - Willingness to own delivery through the point when a client team can run the system independently. - Availability for regular travel to client sites during active engagements.
