Job details
About this role
Role overview A hands-on technical sales role supporting the go-to-market motion for a Kubernetes platform and an expanding virtualization product line. The position owns the technical path from initial discovery through technical close and into the first stretch of customer onboarding, partnering with deeply technical buyers across cloud-native and traditional infrastructure stacks.
Responsibilities - Run technical discovery, scoping, and solution design with prospective customers across Kubernetes, Linux, virtualization, compute, networking, and storage. - Design and lead product demonstrations and proofs of value that map platform capabilities to customer environments. - Resolve technical blockers during evaluation and pilot phases, including bare-metal and cloud deployments. - Stay engaged through early onboarding to ensure successful initial adoption and knowledge transfer to customer teams. - Collaborate closely with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Customer Experience to shape the technical sales and onboarding playbook, including upcoming virtualization offerings. - Reason credibly across the stack on migrations from established virtualization platforms to the company's emerging hypervisor.
Requirements - Demonstrated hands-on experience building and operating Kubernetes, Linux, virtualization, compute, networking, and storage on bare metal as well as in private and public clouds—not limited to consuming managed services. - Ability to design, demonstrate, deploy, and troubleshoot complex infrastructure environments. - Strong written and verbal communication, comfortable translating deep technical detail into clear recommendations for engineering and platform teams. - Comfort working across cloud-native and traditional infrastructure domains.
Benefits and work setup - Remote-first role open to candidates in North America or Europe. - Performance-based compensation plan, typically structured around a 70/30 base/variable split, with base pay ranging from $100,000 to $220,000 USD; final mix depends on geography, experience, seniority, territory, and scope. - Benefits package included. - Direct collaboration with open-source community, Product, and Engineering teams.
