About this role
Role overview Shape digital product experiences for a commerce platform connecting creators, brands, and shoppers. You’ll help decide what to build, then take ideas from discovery and exploration through prototyping, polished implementation, and launch, working closely with product and engineering partners.
Responsibilities - Lead design from early problem discovery and research support through implementation, quality checks, and release. - Help define product problems and strategy while balancing user needs, business goals, and technical constraints. - Identify ways to improve workflows and the experience for creators, brands, and shoppers. - Prototype and test concepts to communicate ideas and reduce uncertainty before development. - Improve design system consistency, accessibility, and scalability; contribute actively to critiques and product discussions. - Explore AI-assisted tools and new workflows to support design, prototyping, and quality while maintaining strong craft.
Requirements - At least seven years of product design experience, ideally in a startup or fast-moving product setting. - A portfolio showing strong visual design, product judgment, and execution quality. - Experience designing for web, mobile, and responsive interfaces. - Ability to work through ambiguity, iterate quickly, and judge when to explore or ship. - Strong prototyping, communication, and collaboration skills across product and engineering teams. - A systems mindset and care for usability, accessibility, quality, and detail.
Nice to have - Familiarity with AI-assisted design or development tools such as coding assistants or rapid prototyping platforms; this is not required. - Experience with emerging product patterns and a willingness to work beyond traditional design boundaries.
Benefits and work setup - Remote-first work, with a headquarters in New York; location needs may vary by team. - Base salary range listed for New York: $150,000–$200,000, with possible additional bonus or commission and equity.
