About this role
Role overview Serve as the technical lead for Microsoft Power Platform delivery on a federal cloud program supporting a U.S. military academy engagement. The engineer will design, build, and operate enterprise-grade Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and Dataverse solutions hosted in Azure, while acting as the in-house subject matter expert and governance steward.
Responsibilities - Design and develop Canvas and Model-Driven Power Apps, Dataverse schemas, and Power Automate workflows for enterprise needs - Integrate solutions with SharePoint Online, Azure Functions, Azure SQL, and Power BI to ensure cohesive data flow - Lead the full solution lifecycle from requirements gathering and design through testing, deployment, and ongoing support - Translate stakeholder business processes into technical specifications and platform best-practice guidance - Establish acceptance criteria, perform developer testing, debug defects, and deliver robust, secure releases - Maintain solution design documents, user guides, and reference material; mentor junior developers as needed - Govern the platform using the Power Platform Center of Excellence toolkit and monitor deployed systems for performance and security
Requirements - U.S. Citizenship - Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field (equivalent experience considered) - DoD 8140/8570 IAT Level II certification such as CompTIA Cloud+ or Security+ - At least five years building Microsoft Power Platform solutions including Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and Dataverse - Hands-on experience with Power Platform Center of Excellence governance - Working knowledge of the Microsoft 365 and Azure ecosystem, including SharePoint integration, Azure Functions or PaaS services, and Azure SQL connectivity - Strong relational data modeling skills and proficiency in at least one language such as C#, .NET, JavaScript/TypeScript, or SQL for plugins, custom connectors, or Azure Functions
Nice to have - Power BI dashboard development, Power Pages or Power Portals, and Teams or SharePoint integrations - Experience with Postman, Fiddler, XRMToolBox, KingswaySoft, Azure Data Factory, and CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub - Microsoft certifications such as PL-900, PL-400, or PL-600, or familiarity with Agile delivery - Willingness to travel occasionally to the client site
