About this role
Role overview This position supports a federal civilian agency's cloud authorization program by maintaining FedRAMP Agency Authorizations to Operate (ATOs) for existing cloud services. The work centers on documentation, continuous monitoring, and assessment support for the agency's Digital Information Services Center. It is a junior- to mid-level opportunity well suited to someone with audit or technical writing experience who wants to deepen expertise in federal cloud compliance.
Responsibilities - Prepare and manage System Security Plans (SSPs) and supporting attachments, ensuring documentation is complete and accurate - Coordinate across multiple ATOs to reduce duplication of effort and align assessment requirements - Build control interview spreadsheets and document controls, risks, and mitigations for each service offering - Manage and track evidence collection during third-party assessment organization (3PAO) reviews, including ensuring required evidence is collected and delivered - Track Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) items stemming from assessment findings, partnering with control owners through remediation and resolution - Serve as a subject matter resource for an assigned service offering, advising the documentation team throughout the assessment lifecycle
Requirements - Prior hands-on FedRAMP experience - Active Tier 2/MBI Public Trust clearance - Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field - One to two years of experience in an audit or accounting role - Strong technical writing ability with solid analytical and problem-solving skills - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team - Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite
Nice to have - Experience with FedRAMP, IL4, FISMA, and/or SOC assessments - CPA designation or cybersecurity certification - Familiarity with Jira and Confluence
