Role overview This role is for a developer advocate who specializes in Ruby and the Rails ecosystem. The advocate will serve as the public face of the platform for working Ruby developers, combining hands-on coding credibility with strong communication skills. The position is remote-first and built around a high-trust, low-process working model.
Responsibilities - Engage with the Ruby community through blog posts, conference talks, podcasts, and open-source work - Produce high-quality sample code, gems, and tutorials that demonstrate best practices - Channel developer feedback into product and engineering roadmaps - Partner with internal engineers to refine APIs and documentation from a developer-experience standpoint - Cultivate relationships with maintainers, gem authors, and influential Ruby contributors
Requirements - Deep, current experience with Ruby and Rails - Strong written and verbal communication skills aimed at peer developers - Visible history of community participation, conference speaking, or open-source releases - Comfort working autonomously in a distributed, high-trust setting
