Senior Backend Engineer - Prompt Security (Node.js / TypeScript)

Role overview

A Senior Backend Engineer opening focused on the server-side foundation of an AI-oriented security product. The work centers on designing and maintaining scalable APIs, data layers, and integrations that help organizations monitor AI assets, assess risk, and enforce safe deployment. Responsibilities

- Design, build, and maintain scalable server-side applications and APIs - Develop and tune database schemas, queries, and storage solutions - Partner with frontend engineers to connect user-facing features with backend logic - Contribute to code reviews and architectural decisions across services - Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems and services - Implement authentication, authorization, and data protection controls - Deploy and operate backend services on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP - Help evolve a microservices architecture and adopt emerging backend practices

Requirements

- 5+ years of professional backend development with Node.js and TypeScript - Hands-on experience with database design and management - Proven work designing and integrating RESTful APIs (GraphQL a plus) - Background building and operating microservices at scale - Familiarity with caching, message queues, and large-scale distributed architectures - Experience implementing authentication, authorization, and data protection mechanisms - Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills

Nice to have

- Exposure to GraphQL API design - Background in security, AI/ML infrastructure, or policy enforcement systems
