Role overview
A software engineering role focused on building customer-facing software for the cannabis dispensary sector. The work spans large-scale data analytics, machine-learning classification, AI-driven product recommendations, and the user-facing interfaces that tie it all together. It is a remote-friendly position with end-to-end ownership of features, working closely alongside design and product teammates.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and deploy product features used by retailers and the shoppers they serve - Contribute to clean, user-facing interfaces as well as the backend systems powering the platform - Apply data analytics, ML classification, and AI-based product recommendation techniques - Partner with design and product to take ideas from concept through to finished product - Maintain a high attention to detail and continuously improve usability across the stack
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional experience developing customer-facing software - Strong communication skills and comfort giving and receiving constructive feedback - Background working in early-stage startup environments on remote teams - Demonstrated ownership of design, implementation, and deployment of product features
Nice to have
- Familiarity with server-side frameworks such as Ruby on Rails - Experience with React, React Native, or native iOS and Android development - Experience with Apache Spark and data engineering tooling
