Role overview
This is a fellowship opportunity with an interdisciplinary AI research collective whose mission is to bring together leading researchers and domain experts to shape how frontier AI systems are built, evaluated, and governed. Members participate in selected AI/ML projects and may collaborate on published research. The role is fully remote, structured as a 1099 independent contractor engagement with no fixed end date and flexible scheduling.
Responsibilities
- Participate in high-impact AI/ML projects, including work on safety and policy guardrails, designing and reviewing PyTorch models, and evaluating complex ML code and AI-generated implementations for efficiency and correctness - Apply domain expertise across STEM fields to evaluate model outputs and inform research direction - Collaborate with internal research teams to co-author technical reports and research papers - Engage with the broader expert community through virtual sessions, newsletters, and in-person events - Surface recurring insights and quality observations from project work
Requirements
- PhD, postdoctoral researcher, or professor with domain expertise in a STEM field such as computer science, machine learning, physics, biology, chemistry, mathematics, or related disciplines - Detail-oriented, innovative thinker with a passion for applied AI research - Commitment to collaboration across disciplines and institutions - Full-time work authorization in the U.S. (visa sponsorship is not available)
