Role overview Build and ship machine learning solutions as part of a team working on large-scale, multimodal data and AI systems. Depending on the workstream, projects may involve LLM-based agents, adapted foundation models, retrieval systems, or classical machine learning; the role offers hands-on ownership from exploration and experimentation through production delivery, with guidance from experienced scientists.

Responsibilities - Explore data, engineer features, and develop, train, evaluate, and deploy machine learning models. - Implement and maintain production pipeline components, including preprocessing, model serving, monitoring, and retraining. - Contribute to LLM applications through prompt workflows, evaluation tools, retrieval-augmented generation, or fine-tuning. - Analyse text, images, video, and structured metadata to derive features and insights for downstream models. - Write tested, maintainable Python code suitable for production systems. - Take part in code reviews, technical design discussions, and reviews of experimental results.

Requirements - 2–4 years of experience building machine learning models, including some deployment to production. - Solid understanding of machine learning fundamentals, including validation, regularisation, bias and variance, and diagnosing model performance. - Working proficiency in Python and familiarity with core machine learning libraries. - Experience in at least one area such as NLP/LLMs, computer vision, recommender systems, or time-series modelling. - Good software engineering practices, including Git, testing, CI/CD, and code review. - Clear communication of modelling choices and results to technical and non-technical colleagues.

Nice to have Experience with LLM fine-tuning, prompt engineering, or RAG; cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP; Docker and orchestration; marketing technology, ad tech, or audience modelling; or a relevant advanced degree or equivalent project experience.
