Senior Backend Engineer

Role overview

A remote senior backend engineering position supporting a risk and fraud-prevention platform used by banks, fintechs, and large enterprises. The work centers on designing highly available APIs and services, contributing to product and technical roadmaps, and partnering closely with stakeholders across engineering, product, and data teams. It combines hands-on service development with broad influence on tooling, documentation, and engineering standards.

Responsibilities

- Design, build, and operate reliable backend services that support an evolving risk and identity platform - Partner with business stakeholders to take new services from initial concept through production delivery - Contribute to roadmap planning, internal tooling, and process improvements that raise engineering quality - Coordinate with cross-functional engineering and product teams to ship integrated, end-to-end solutions - Maintain user-facing technical documentation that supports adoption of the services - Help shape engineering culture and uphold quality standards across the organization

Requirements

- 7+ years of professional experience building production web backends - Strong proficiency in Golang, with working familiarity across at least one of TypeScript (Node), Ruby, Python, or Java - A track record designing highly available APIs and shipping them to production - Data engineering experience with pipelines (for example, GCP Dataflow or BigQuery) and databases such as PostgreSQL or Bigtable - Industry exposure to banking, fintech, fraud prevention, or compliance - Professional working proficiency in English, written and verbal
