Senior Software Engineer - Commercial Navigation

Role overview This senior engineering role focuses on commercial navigation for fleets, turning planned work into guided trips that are safe, efficient, and visible to operations teams. The position spans mobile, backend, and web surfaces, blending real-time data, thoughtful UX, and platform coordination to deliver reliable driver experiences under tough conditions like poor connectivity and shifting schedules. This is a remote opportunity open to candidates in the US and Canada, with no relocation support.

Responsibilities - Take ownership of navigation features end to end, from design and build through rollout, quality follow-up, and customer impact tracking - Write maintainable, well-tested code, hold a high bar in design and code review, and improve observability and testing for production reliability - Design and ship features across mobile, backend services, and web, including in-driver navigation, admin visibility, optimized routing, and safety-focused capabilities - Convert ambiguous problems into clear plans by learning from fleet managers and drivers, aligning with product on priorities, defining success metrics, and surfacing risks early - Collaborate across product, design, engineering, and adjacent teams such as Maps and Telematics to deliver cohesive navigation experiences

Requirements - Senior-level engineering experience with a product-minded approach and the judgment to own ambiguous problems end to end - Ability to make practical tradeoffs across multiple surfaces rather than working a fixed layer of the stack - Comfort contributing across mobile, backend services, and web as project needs shift - Strong systems thinking for real-time data and reliability under challenging field conditions - Collaborative working style with the independence to drive initiatives forward
