Role overview A Connected Operations platform is hiring a Data Engineer to join a cross-functional Data team working alongside Data Scientists, Analysts, and other Engineers. The core mission is to design and maintain data pipelines inside a central data lake, ingesting and transforming high-volume IoT device telemetry and software product data into a unified analytics model that powers statistical analysis, machine learning, and operational dashboards.
Responsibilities - Build and maintain highly reliable computed tables that combine structured sensor and product data with unstructured sources such as video and audio, along with customer metadata. - Access, manipulate, and integrate external third-party datasets with internal data assets. - Deliver high-quality, customer-facing data products that meet strict uptime and reliability targets. - Partner with Data Science, Analytics, AI/ML, and peer Data Engineering teams to ensure data quality supports causal inference, model training, and dashboarding use cases. - Champion engineering best practices and inclusive, customer-focused cultural principles across a globally scaling organization.
Requirements - BA or MS degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or a related discipline. - 4+ years of experience in a data engineering-focused role. - Demonstrated experience designing data models at scale. - Proficiency building ETL pipelines that handle large data volumes. - Hands-on experience with Spark-based data platforms (SparkSQL and PySpark). - Strong command of at least one data orchestration tool such as Airflow, Dagster, or Prefect. - Expertise in SQL, Python, and working with REST APIs.
