About this role
Role overview Build and evolve the core software that hospitals use to manage clinical and administrative work, including orders, records, documents, billing, and claims. You will work with clinical and customer-facing colleagues to shape features around real care workflows, while also developing generative AI capabilities and integrations that meet healthcare requirements in Japan.
Responsibilities - Design and implement hospital functions for acute, recovery, and psychiatric care workflows. - Refine requirements with physicians, nurses, and customer success colleagues, then use frontline feedback to improve features. - Develop AI capabilities such as drafting clinical documents, structuring voice input, and supporting clinical decisions. - Define ways to evaluate the accuracy and safety of AI-generated medical content, and improve prompts and workflows. - Support healthcare data standards and integrations with external eligibility, prescription, laboratory, device, and billing systems. - Design and operate secure cloud infrastructure, monitoring, backups, monthly releases, and an AI-assisted development process.
Requirements - At least three years of professional web application development experience in backend, frontend, or both. - Experience modeling data and implementing relational database solutions. - Experience collaborating on a development team using Git, code review, and CI/CD. - Interest in clinical problems and ability to clarify requirements with non-engineering colleagues.
Nice to have - Experience with EHRs, medical billing, or other healthcare information systems. - Familiarity with HL7 FHIR, SS-MIX2, eligibility checks, electronic prescriptions, or related integrations. - Experience operating AWS or another cloud platform, including Infrastructure as Code. - Experience building LLM products, evaluating generated outputs, designing prompts, or developing with AI coding agents. - Healthcare industry experience, relevant certification, or knowledge of Japanese reimbursement systems.
