Job details
About this role
Role overview Keep a payment authorization service available and secure by building its cloud platform, blockchain connectivity, and release practices. The service depends on reliable access to Base and Solana and on protected signing keys; outages can prevent agents from completing payments. You’ll set reliability practices and help design infrastructure for additional chains and geographic regions.
Responsibilities - Define API reliability targets and build monitoring, alerting, and runbooks to support them. - Operate blockchain access for Base and Solana, using self-managed nodes where appropriate and multiple RPC providers elsewhere. - Configure automatic failover so provider issues do not require someone to intervene while on call. - Protect signing keys using a KMS or HSM. - Make releases reviewed, repeatable, and straightforward to roll back. - Plan infrastructure for Ethereum, Arbitrum, and Polygon, as well as future US and APAC regions.
Requirements - Production experience running blockchain nodes or relying on RPC providers for an EVM chain or Solana. - Residence in a country where the role can be hired. - Relevant experience from open source, hackathons, or personal projects is welcome; a particular job title is not required.
Nice to have - Experience operating Geth, Reth, or Solana RPC nodes. - Key management with a KMS or HSM, or work toward SOC 2 or ISO 27001. - Go programming experience or on-call work for systems that handle money.
Benefits and work setup - US salary range: $150,000–$195,000; offers elsewhere are benchmarked to the local market and may be paid in USD or USDC. Includes 0.15% vesting equity. - Health coverage varies by location; US employees receive full employee medical, dental, and vision premiums, with 75% coverage for dependents. Elsewhere, there is a local plan or a $300 monthly contribution toward private coverage. - 25 vacation days plus public holidays, a year-end closure, and 14 weeks of paid parental leave. - Laptop, $1,000 workspace allowance, and $1,500 annual learning budget; work-related conference travel is also covered. - Flexible hours with a shared availability window from 14:00 to 17:00 UTC. The role may be combined with another job if there is no conflict.
