Job details
About this role
Role overview Build a clear, evidence-based picture of how AI agents make payments on blockchain networks. You will analyze onchain activity, track emerging payment protocols, and publish research that informs product decisions and helps developers and customers understand the market. The work combines independent data analysis with public writing and close collaboration with product and protocol engineering.
Responsibilities - Track agent payment activity on Base and Solana, including USDC flows, protocol calls, escrow releases, and transaction patterns. - Build recurring dashboards using tools such as Dune or Artemis, or scripts that query RPC endpoints; verify the data you collect. - Review protocol specifications and relevant code changes, then write concise assessments of adoption opportunities and tradeoffs. - Publish quarterly research with accompanying datasets, alongside shorter analyses of specific networks, payment methods, or markets. - Maintain a regularly updated map of payment infrastructure teams, agent wallets, and marketplaces. - Expand research coverage as additional blockchain networks and agent identity questions enter scope.
Requirements - A track record of publishing crypto research that reaches an audience, such as reports, newsletters, dashboards, papers, or data-backed posts. - Ability to gather and validate blockchain data using explorers, analytics platforms, or RPC access. - Residence in a country where the role can be hired.
Nice to have Experience at a research firm, fund, or exchange; coverage of stablecoins or payments; SQL or Python skills; familiarity with x402 or MCP; or experience presenting at crypto events. Open-source work, hackathons, and personal projects are relevant alongside formal job experience.
Benefits and work setup The role is fully remote in a broad set of eligible countries. Hours are flexible, with a shared availability window of 14:00–17:00 UTC; the source says alternative arrangements can be discussed if that falls overnight locally. The stated US salary range is $120,000–$165,000; compensation outside the US is set according to local markets and paid in USD or, if preferred, USDC. Benefits include 0.12% vesting equity, paid leave and holidays, parental leave, health coverage or a contribution toward private coverage depending on location, a laptop and workspace allowance, an annual learning budget, and paid access to research data tools. The source allows combining this role with another job if there is no conflict, including paid research on agent payments for another party.
