Remote job
Backend Engineer (Blockchain Infrastructure)
Job details
About this role
Role overview Build the backend systems that track onchain payments and escrow releases approved by a payment authorization service. You’ll record finalized activity on Base and Solana, connect each settlement to the decision that permitted it, and help make those records dependable enough for financial reconciliation. The work also lays groundwork for additional chains and automated month-end close.
Responsibilities - Build and operate services that monitor Base and Solana for USDC transfers and escrow releases. - Record each approved settlement once, and only after it reaches finality. - Reconcile onchain activity with the corresponding authorization decision. - Preserve accurate records through RPC provider outages and provider changes, without missing or duplicating events. - Help extend the settlement and reconciliation systems to Ethereum, Arbitrum, and Polygon.
Requirements - Experience building a backend service that reads data from an EVM blockchain or Solana. - Residence in a country where the role can be hired. - Relevant experience may come from employment, open source, hackathons, or personal projects; a particular job title is not required.
Nice to have - Experience with blockchain finality, reorganizations, running nodes, RPC services, or indexing. - Background in payments, financial ledgers, or on-call systems that handle money. - Familiarity with Solana’s account model, EVM client internals, Substreams, Geyser, or webhook-based indexing.
Benefits and work setup - US salary range: $160,000–$205,000; offers elsewhere are benchmarked to the local market and may be paid in USD or USDC. Includes 0.25% vesting equity. - Health coverage varies by location; US employees receive full employee medical, dental, and vision premiums, with 75% coverage for dependents. Elsewhere, there is a local plan or a $300 monthly contribution toward private coverage. - 25 vacation days plus public holidays, a year-end closure, and 14 weeks of paid parental leave. - Laptop, $1,000 workspace allowance, and $1,500 annual learning budget; work-related conference travel is also covered. - Flexible hours with a shared availability window from 14:00 to 17:00 UTC. The role may be combined with another job if there is no conflict.
