Remote job
AI Engineer (Agents, Web3)
Job details
About this role
Role overview Make it straightforward for developers to add payment checks to AI agents, regardless of the framework they use. You will build framework packages and an MCP server, then develop evaluations that check whether agents follow payment decisions and escalation rules reliably.
Responsibilities - Build and maintain integrations for the OpenAI Agents SDK, LangChain and Vercel AI SDK, and support additional frameworks as customer needs evolve. - Develop an MCP server that lets compatible clients request a payment check as one of their available tools. - Create evaluations using models customers actually rely on, checking that agents stop after a denial, ask a person when required, and do not evade a decision through repeated altered requests. - Use findings from framework integrations to shape the public SDKs planned for release the following year.
Requirements - Write production TypeScript or Python. - Have shipped an agent or LLM feature that calls tools and has been used by someone other than yourself. - Live in a country where the organization can hire. - Relevant experience can come from a role with a different title, open source, hackathons or personal projects.
Nice to have - Contributions to agent frameworks such as LangGraph or CrewAI, or experience writing an MCP server. - Experience with agent payments over x402 or work involving ERC-8004. - Experience evaluating how models use tools, or fluency in both TypeScript and Python.
Benefits and work setup The stated US salary range is $170,000–$220,000; offers elsewhere are benchmarked to the local market, with USD or USDC payment available. The package includes vesting equity, health coverage or a contribution toward private cover, 25 vacation days plus public holidays, a year-end closure, 14 weeks of paid parental leave, a laptop and workspace allowance, and an annual learning budget. Hours are flexible, with a shared team availability window of 14:00–17:00 UTC; adjustments can be discussed when needed. A compatible second job is permitted.
