About this role
Role overview This role centers on building performance-driven storyboards for paid social ads, with hands-on editing used to execute or refine the concepts authored. It sits at the intersection of performance marketing and creative production, translating instinct for hooks, pattern interrupts, and retention into briefs that actors and editors can execute without guesswork.
Responsibilities - Define the full visual flow of each paid social concept, including talking head, B-roll, actions, hooks, and on-screen text, with storyboards executable without additional direction. - Specify guidance for editors on sourcing footage, AI generation, motion graphics, and other production choices. - Develop hooks, angles, and ad structures based on currently winning patterns across major platforms. - Think in scroll-stopping moments and retention drivers, iterating concepts based on performance data and feedback. - Collaborate closely with marketing, editors, and copywriters to improve results. - Edit ads when needed to execute or refine owned storyboard concepts using Premiere Pro and After Effects, leveraging AI tools to supplement output.
Requirements - Proven experience creating storyboards for paid social or direct-response ads. - Strong understanding of performance marketing and direct-response principles, including hook rate, hold rate, retention, and CTR. - Experience with DTC brands or UGC-style ad formats. - Native fluency with platform-specific content behavior on Meta, TikTok, and YouTube. - Comfort using AI creative tools such as avatars, voice generation, and generative video. - Solid video editing skills in Adobe Premiere Pro, with After Effects as a plus. - Strong written English that is clear, concise, and conversion-focused.
Nice to have - A considered view on where AI creative platforms improve output and where they fall short.
