About this role
Role overview Establish and lead the engineering direction for a new provider onboarding domain in a healthcare environment. This staff-level role owns architecture and delivery across tools and workflows used by internal teams and external providers, with a focus on dependable capabilities for pricing, payments, client panels, and forms. It also calls for building team capability and mentoring senior engineers.
Responsibilities - Set the technical architecture and product implementation strategy for provider onboarding. - Lead development of full-stack applications and microservices that support provider-facing and internal workflows. - Coordinate with technical and nontechnical partners to translate operational challenges into scalable product capabilities. - Guide initiatives from planning and specification through delivery, measurement, and ongoing maintenance. - Mentor engineers, review architectures, and define patterns that support consistent, sustainable development. - Balance complex delivery needs with reliability and operational quality.
Requirements - At least eight years of software engineering experience, including one or more years working on healthcare or comparable systems. - At least one year helping form a new team from the ground up. - Full-stack experience with modern SQL- or NoSQL-backed web applications and microservice development. - Proven ability to work across functions and communicate technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders. - Experience mentoring engineers, reviewing system designs, and guiding all stages of software delivery. - A record of solving complex engineering problems with sustainable results.
Nice to have - Startup experience, SaaS development on AWS, or work on products requiring high reliability and accuracy. - On-call experience, including independent investigation and resolution of difficult production issues. - Familiarity with Node.js, TypeScript, or Kafka.
