Role overview
A mid-level DevOps Engineer position within a UK-based Managed Services team focused on designing, deploying, and supporting reliable cloud infrastructure for enterprise clients. The role is hands-on and ideal for someone who enjoys automation, problem-solving, and contributing to platform stability across Azure-native environments. Expect close collaboration with application engineers, platform engineers, and client stakeholders on production-grade systems.
Responsibilities
- Deploy, configure, and maintain Docker containers and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) clusters using automated pipelines - Operate and manage Azure infrastructure including virtual machines, networking, storage, identity, Key Vault, and security groups - Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps, including release workflows and infrastructure automation - Monitor system performance using Elastic Agent, Prometheus, Azure Monitor, and Grafana - Collaborate with development and client teams to deliver scalable, reliable DevOps solutions - Provide on-call support on a rotational basis for high-priority incidents - Continuously improve system architecture, automation, and operational processes
Requirements
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience with Azure and Kubernetes (AKS) in production environments - Strong knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes core components such as Pods, PVs, Services, ConfigMap, DNS, and networking - Solid CI/CD experience, particularly writing pipeline stages in YAML for Azure DevOps - Familiarity with Terraform and Helm for infrastructure as code - Comfort working across Linux and Windows environments - Fluent in English - Eligibility to meet UK Enhanced Security checks for clients of national importance
Nice to have
- Scripting experience with Bash, PowerShell, or Python - Kubernetes certifications such as CKA or CKAD - ITIL knowledge or service management experience
