Remote job
Founding Engineer, Commercial Systems
Job details
About this role
Role overview A founding engineer role dedicated to the commercial organization of a healthcare technology business. The position owns the technical layer above an existing sales, enablement, and revenue stack, connecting tools and building the automation and AI that sales and client success teams run on. It is a first-engineer opportunity with the foundation already in place, where the work focuses on turning a strong but disconnected stack into a unified commercial engine.
Responsibilities - Serve as the technical owner of the CRM and broader commercial stack, architecting the system, wiring tools together, and writing custom code (Apex, Lightning Web Components, APIs) and integrations where configuration is not enough. - Establish trustworthy commercial data by building automations, controls, standards, and pipelines that fix data quality at the source, then feed it into the central data warehouse in partnership with data and insights teams. - Ship automation and AI tooling that gives sales representatives and client success teams an edge, including deal briefs, finalist preparation, renewal-risk alerts, and AI agents that surface at-risk deals and recommended next steps. - Help shape the long-term commercial engineering function, with the potential to mentor and manage a team member as the business scales.
Requirements - 5+ years of hands-on Salesforce experience, with at least 3 years writing Apex in production environments. - Salesforce certifications such as Platform Developer I/II and Administrator. - Demonstrated ownership of at least one production integration between Salesforce and an external system. - A history of shipping Lightning Web Components used daily by a sales or client success team. - An AI-forward mindset with a track record of shipping an AI-powered tool that a business team actually used in production, not just a demo. - Comfort operating in ambiguity, building from scratch, owning sandboxes, version control, and deployments, and partnering with non-technical teams to translate business needs into working solutions.
Nice to have - Prior experience in a Revenue Operations, Sales Operations, or Commercial Systems engineering role. - Experience working with data warehouses and modern data or BI tooling.
Benefits and work setup - Base compensation in the range of $142,000 to $188,000 plus bonus, with the final offer determined by geographic location, experience, and qualifications. - An engineering role with the rare chance to define a function from its earliest stage and shape how it grows alongside the business.
