Role overview
Own and improve production data-flow systems that turn large volumes of messy, changing source information into reliable datasets. This senior individual-contributor role spans ingestion, transformation, orchestration, infrastructure integration, data quality, operations, and long-term system design. The work is highly cross-functional and requires sound judgment when balancing correctness, timeliness, reliability, and delivery speed.
Responsibilities
- Operate data pipelines end to end, including ingestion, transformation, enrichment, validation, publication, and monitoring. - Build reusable processing patterns for high-volume datasets such as profiles, organizations, job postings, and related enrichments. - Investigate and resolve production failures across source data, application code, orchestration, storage, Kubernetes, warehouses, models, and downstream product expectations. - Diagnose data-quality issues, anomalous metrics, and discrepancies that affect users or stakeholders. - Design guardrails such as validation checks, lifecycle controls, monitors, alerts, data contracts, runbooks, and safer release processes. - Improve reliability, performance, and cost efficiency by tuning resources, execution strategies, storage layouts, and orchestration logic.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of relevant professional experience. - Strong software engineering experience building and operating production data systems. - Ability to work across data pipelines, infrastructure, orchestration, storage, and data-quality concerns. - Experience debugging ambiguous, multi-layer production problems and communicating impact clearly. - Good judgment about when to patch, roll back, rerun, escalate, or redesign a system. - Willingness to simplify brittle systems and create patterns that other engineers can reuse safely.
