Role overview
Develop and improve sophisticated data models that reveal workforce composition, employment trends, and related labor-market patterns from large collections of public records. This is a hands-on senior data science role combining research, production modeling, analysis, and collaboration with experienced specialists.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, refine, and extend complex statistical or machine-learning models. - Investigate modeling approaches for areas such as natural language processing, time series, and Bayesian analysis. - Work with large-scale workforce and employment data to identify meaningful patterns and trends. - Use exploratory analysis and visualization to communicate findings and assess model behavior. - Collaborate with an experienced data science team on challenging applied research and product problems. - Help translate analytical results into useful workforce intelligence for varied end users.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience building complex data models. - Strong Python and SQL skills. - Working knowledge of regular expressions and Bash for data processing and automation. - Ability to analyze results and communicate them through effective data visualization. - Creative, rigorous problem-solving skills and comfort working on technically challenging data problems.
Nice to have
- Experience or strong interest in NLP, time-series modeling, or Bayesian methods. - Background analyzing human-capital, workforce, financial, or similarly structured business data. - Advanced academic or domain expertise in data science.
