Senior Data Engineer - Infrastructure

Role overview

This role combines cloud infrastructure engineering with backend development to make data-intensive services more scalable, resilient, distributed, secure, and economical. You will automate operational processes, modernize the infrastructure supporting core services, and contribute directly to the codebase as services grow in usage and complexity.

Responsibilities

- Upgrade and evolve cloud infrastructure to support greater scale, resilience, and distribution. - Automate services and operational workflows so they require minimal manual intervention. - Improve cloud-cost efficiency and strengthen security as the platform expands. - Modify backend services and APIs to support migration onto new infrastructure. - Reduce the operational workload required to run and support growing services. - Help improve the reliability and maintainability of systems that process large-scale data.

Requirements

- Practical experience with cloud computing, particularly AWS. - Experience with Docker and Kubernetes; EKS experience is preferred. - Working knowledge of Python and Bash. - Familiarity with orchestration tools such as Airflow. - Experience with Go. - A combination of infrastructure and systems-engineering experience, together with an automation-oriented mindset.
