About this role

Role overview A software engineer is needed to help build a multimodal data stack that powers physical AI applications. The role spans a high-performance visualization viewer, cross-language SDKs, and integration with backend infrastructure designed to handle datasets far larger than a single machine can manage. It suits a generalist who likes moving between rendering, interface work, data handling, and systems engineering rather than staying in one lane.

Responsibilities - Build and evolve the visualization viewer and cross-language SDKs to handle large volumes of 2D, 3D, time-series, and statistical data in real time - Connect the viewer smoothly with backend infrastructure so users can query and explore petabyte-scale archives without friction - Make architecture and technology decisions that span the full stack, keeping the system maintainable as data volumes grow - Profile and optimize user workflows across desktop and web targets - Collaborate closely with backend, infrastructure, and design teammates where the most interesting problems live at the boundaries - Engage directly with the open source community and customers running on very large datasets, helping them get good results

Requirements - Strong programming skills in Rust or another compiled language, with fluency to read and work in a Rust codebase - Generalist ability with UI skills, comfortable moving between interface, rendering, data handling, and infrastructure - Experience with interactive data visualization, especially for large datasets and complex visual structures - Experience building real-time, high-performance applications - Comfort with ambiguity, able to identify problems, make calls, and communicate them rather than waiting for direction - Strong written and spoken English for working with both the community and the team

Nice to have - Experience contributing to or maintaining open source projects with active communities - Background in robotics, simulation, streaming, rendering, or game engines - Knowledge of GPU rendering pipelines such as wgpu and how to extract performance from them

Benefits and work setup - Fully remote setup, with a quarterly in-person week for the whole team - Core overlap window of 1:30 to 5:00 pm CET; candidates outside European or US-east timezones are considered case by case - Competitive cash and equity compensation, six weeks of paid vacation, and full hardware and software provision
