Forward Deployed Engineer

Role overview

A hands-on, customer-embedded engineering role supporting a data stack built for physical AI, where robotics and spatial-AI teams already manage petabytes of multimodal data through the platform. The role works side by side with customers over multi-month engagements to keep data flowing, surface product gaps, and shape how deployments work as the company grows.

Responsibilities

- Run technical discovery and scope solutions for customer problems. - Stand up data pipelines and integrations that get customer data flowing into the platform. - Solve hard data and infrastructure problems inside customer production environments. - Coordinate work across internal and customer teams to keep deployments moving. - Feed recurring issues, patterns, and product gaps back to engineering and product teams.

Requirements

- Strong technical foundation with Python and hands-on data work. - Background in data engineering or data platforms, infrastructure or platform engineering, or software engineering with substantial data work, including large-scale pipelines. - Comfortable being customer-facing: asking probing questions, surfacing hidden requirements, and coordinating across teams. - Able to learn fast and work through ambiguity. - Genuinely energized by understanding someone else's problem and solving it with them. - Approximately 30% travel to spend time with customers during deployments.

Nice to have

- Experience with robotics, autonomy, perception, or sensor data. - Open-source contributions or side projects you are proud of. - Prior customer-facing experience.
