Role overview A mid-level Analytics Engineer position focused on turning raw data into actionable insights that shape organizational strategy. The role blends data engineering, advanced analytics, and applied machine learning to power AI-driven decision-making across a remote-first, globally distributed team.
Responsibilities - Design, build, and maintain data models and transformation pipelines inside a Snowflake data warehouse using dbt for testing and documentation. - Write advanced SQL queries against large-scale datasets to surface patterns, trends, and opportunities that inform strategic decisions. - Develop and optimize Looker dashboards and LookML, including conversational analytics features that let stakeholders query data with natural language. - Apply Snowflake Intelligence capabilities such as Cortex Analyst, Cortex Agents, Cortex Search, and AISQL to deliver conversational and AI-driven insights. - Write production-grade Python for analysis, data processing, and automation, integrating jobs into orchestrated workflows like Airflow. - Partner with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into data solutions and identify opportunities for AI/ML/NLP adoption.
Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field; a Master's degree is preferred. - Two or more years of experience in data analytics or a closely related field, with meaningful exposure to AI and machine learning applications. - Advanced SQL skills, including optimization across complex, large-scale datasets. - Hands-on experience with dbt for building, documenting, and testing data models. - Strong grasp of data modeling and warehouse design, including star schema, normalization, and slowly changing dimensions. - Experience with the Snowflake Data Cloud platform and familiarity with BI tools such as Looker or equivalent enterprise platforms.
Nice to have - Experience with AI agents or generative AI tools used to streamline workflows or build automated analytic assistants. - Background working with real-time or streaming data pipelines and orchestration tools like Airflow. - A portfolio (GitHub, public dashboards, or similar) showcasing end-to-end analytics work on cloud warehouse or BI platforms.
