About this role

Role overview A senior data engineering role supporting U.S. Air Force Condition-Based Maintenance Plus (CBM+) programs that improve aircraft sustainment and logistics forecasting. The position sits on cross-functional Agile teams delivering predictive maintenance models and decision-support tools in a fast-moving defense analytics environment.

Responsibilities - Drive CBM+ data initiatives from inception through deployment, aligning with mission and program objectives. - Build, sustain, and optimize end-to-end ETL pipelines and data collection workflows. - Perform exploratory data analysis, statistical analysis, and visualization to surface trends that shape product decisions. - Develop and maintain knowledge graph capabilities to enrich aircraft and maintenance data. - Partner with engineering teams to integrate trained models into production applications and APIs. - Monitor data quality and model performance, detecting and mitigating drift or degradation.

Requirements - Active U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance; U.S. citizenship required. - Bachelor's degree in a STEM field or equivalent professional experience. - 2+ years applying Natural Language Processing, including data labeling and entity or keyword extraction. - Proficiency with Databricks, PySpark, SQL, data governance frameworks, and technical documentation standards. - Strong statistical foundations for predictive modeling and data assessment. - Excellent communication skills with the ability to brief non-technical and executive audiences, plus experience with Jira, Confluence, Lucidchart, Microsoft Office, and visualization tools such as Qlik Sense or Streamlit.

Nice to have - Master's degree in Data Science, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or related STEM field. - Advanced AI/ML expertise applied to predictive maintenance and defense logistics. - Experience building sensor-based failure prediction models and equipment health indicators. - Monte Carlo simulation and statistical confidence interval work. - End-to-end pipeline engineering with customer-facing UI/UX integration.

Benefits and work setup - Anticipated base salary range of $190,000 to $210,000, with eligibility for performance-based or other incentive compensation where applicable. - Comprehensive benefits programs and eligibility for additional incentive plans. - Minimal travel as needed to engage with government customers and stakeholders.
