Responsibilities
- Design and build features for the messaging layer, including chat, notifications, and conversation infrastructure - Maintain and improve the reliability, latency, and throughput of messaging services - Collaborate with product, design, and other engineering teams to scope and ship work - Participate in code reviews, on-call rotations, and incident response - Mentor peers and contribute to technical direction across the team
Requirements
- Several years of professional software engineering experience, typically at the senior level - Strong background in backend or distributed systems programming - Experience with messaging, real-time, or high-throughput systems - Ability to work independently in a remote environment within the United States
