Role overview A front end software engineering role dedicated to the media player experience within a large-scale consumer product. The position focuses on the UI, interaction layer, and client-side performance of how video, audio, or other rich media is played back for end users.
Responsibilities - Develop and maintain the front end of a media player used by a large audience. - Implement responsive, accessible UI patterns for playback controls and related interactions. - Optimize client-side performance, including startup time, buffering behavior, and smooth playback. - Work closely with designers to refine the look, feel, and usability of the player. - Collaborate with backend and platform engineers to integrate playback with upstream services.
Requirements - Professional experience as a front end or full-stack software engineer. - Proficiency with modern web technologies such as JavaScript or TypeScript and relevant frameworks. - Understanding of browser media APIs and common playback challenges. - Attention to performance, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility. - Ability to ship polished user-facing features iteratively.
