Role overview Support a mission-driven team working to reduce incarceration and improve outcomes in the criminal justice system. This early-career role focuses on exploring large, complex datasets, producing analyses that surface patterns in criminal justice data, and helping launch tools in partner states. The work is collaborative and detail-oriented, partnering with senior analysts, state engagement teams, and government staff.
Responsibilities - Explore datasets drawn from criminal justice systems across multiple states to identify trends and patterns - Carry out well-scoped analyses with guidance from senior analysts and partner-facing teams - Prepare analytical data needed for product launches in partner states and flag inconsistencies as they arise - Build clear, well-documented visualizations and dashboards using existing BI tools - Present findings to internal teams and, alongside teammates, to government partners - Analyze trends related to the team's products to understand how they perform in practice
Requirements - At least six months of professional work experience, including internships or research roles - Strong communication and collaboration skills with diverse internal and external partners - Interest in criminal justice, public policy, or experience working with public-sector data - Familiarity with a BI or dashboarding tool such as Looker or Tableau - Familiarity with parts of a modern data stack, including cloud data warehouses, notebooks, and Python or Pandas
