Software Engineer: AI-Augmented Development

Role overview Build and deliver software that addresses business needs across applications, services, APIs, and integrations. You’ll work through incomplete requirements, make and explain practical engineering decisions, and take assigned work from implementation through deployment and ongoing improvement. AI coding tools are part of the workflow, but the role calls for sound engineering judgment and is not focused on AI or machine learning research.

Responsibilities - Turn business and technical requirements into tested, deployed software; clarify gaps and communicate assumptions before making significant decisions. - Design, develop, and maintain applications, APIs, services, and integrations, including work in existing codebases. - Use AI-assisted tools for implementation, debugging, and testing, then review generated code for correctness, security, and maintainability. - Deploy, operate, and troubleshoot applications using cloud services. - Share progress, technical decisions, dependencies, and blockers clearly while collaborating across countries and time zones. - Own assigned work through release and subsequent improvements, balancing delivery speed with reliability.

Requirements - At least one year of professional software development experience and evidence of contributing to software that was tested and delivered. - Proficiency in at least one modern programming language and familiarity with APIs, databases, application architecture, testing, debugging, and version control. - Practical experience with AWS and a working understanding of cloud deployment and basic infrastructure; experience from personal projects is acceptable. - Familiarity with AI-assisted development and the ability to review, test, debug, and validate generated code. - Ability to investigate unfamiliar code, work through partly defined requirements, and take ownership of solutions. - Clear communication and availability for agreed working hours, including consistent overlap with U.S. time zones; based in Sri Lanka.

Nice to have Python, FastAPI or similar frameworks, JavaScript or TypeScript, Google Cloud, Docker, CI/CD, independent end-to-end application delivery, AI coding assistants, or third-party integrations. A relevant degree is welcome but not required.
