Cloud & DevOps Engineer

Role overview A remote consulting team is hiring a cloud and DevOps engineer to take responsibility for how client systems are deployed, monitored, and protected. The role spans the full lifecycle, from the first small deployment through to systems carrying real production traffic, with a focus on reliability and clean handover to the client.

Responsibilities - Design and maintain cloud infrastructure for client projects, with documentation and handover in mind from the start. - Build deployment pipelines, manage environments, configure backups, and set up monitoring. - Create alerts that reach the right person, explain what broke, and suggest what to do next. - Handle secrets management, access control, and core security hygiene properly. - Track cloud spend and flag potential cost issues to clients before they show up on the invoice.

Requirements - Experience running production workloads on AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, or a comparable platform. - Comfort with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code tooling. - Prior on-call experience and a clear sense of what makes an alert genuinely useful. - Enjoyment of writing runbooks that other team members can follow under pressure.

Nice to have - Experience operating Node.js services, queue systems, and managed databases. - A background working directly with client or cross-functional teams.
